Once the admission procedures completed, 120 new students from 2019 GCE (A/L) students will be registered in Faculty of Medicine, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka soon.

The medical faculty of Wayamba University was declared open by former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Kuliyapitiya. Ministers Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Rauff Hakeem, and Rajitha Senaratne participated in the event.
A tree planting campaign was held at Labuyaya premises, Faculty of Medicine Wayamba University of Sri Lanka on 17th of September 2020. The Vice Chancellor, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Deans of the other faculties, the Registrar of the University, staff, and the students of the Faculty of Medicine enthusiastically participated in this event. More than sixty varieties of native medicinal species were planted at this ceremony.
