Dr. Asela Wijayasekara assumed duties as a probationary lecturer in Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
Dr Asela had been a student from St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa and has obtained the MBBS degree in 2015 from Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
He has started his career as a temporary lecturer in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and subsequently in the Ministry of Health as a medical officer at the District General Hospital, Chilaw and District Hospital, Mundalama.
His keen interest in teaching and research field has lead him to join the Faculty of Medicine, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka as a probationary lecturer in the Department of Parasitology. His research interests are in the field of medical parasitology.
