The medical faculty staff development committee hosted a workshop for the newly appointed junior staff and the other laboratory staff members, about laboratory safety and waste disposal. This was held as a two hours workshop on February 23, 2022, from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. at the Anatomy Museum. The valuable session was conducted by the resource person Prof. Jennifer Perera, Emeritus Professor of Microbiology, Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
This would be more beneficial for our newly appointed laboratory staff to begin their new careers in the faculty in a more successful manner, as well as to plan the laboratory setup by using the knowledge gained about laboratory safety and waste disposal.
